A Road Less-Traveled: Feminism and Advocacy in Saudi ArabiaThursday, February 01, 2018 | 12:00-1:00 pm | Wasserstein 1023
Hala Aldosari is a women’s rights activist and scholar from Saudi Arabia, who found herself on the uncharted and less-traveled road of striving to unravel Saudi women’s collective power and sustain a momentum for advocacy in a country where women are perpetual minors and activism is criminalized. In this talk, Aldosari will discuss ten key messages for feminists and activists struggling to make a difference. Beyond describing the advocacy and public campaigns in Saudi Arabia, the talk will draw on significant personal insights and reflections, and provide a snapshot of an eventful journey that is attempting to organize thought and action.
Co-sponsored by the Human Rights Program, Middle Eastern Law Students Association (MELSA), and HLS Advocates at Harvard Law School.
